Mehrdad Hossein Morvaridi Farimani is a Sweden-based roboticist and industrial designer specializing in humanoid robot design, with over a decade of hands-on experience developing commercially viable robotic systems. He holds a Master of Science in Industrial Design Engineering from Chalmers University of Technology and is co-founder and CTO of MERPHI AB, a robotics company focused on advanced robotic platforms.
He has contributed to the industrial design and human-centered development of advanced humanoid systems, including work with Sanctuary AI's Phoenix robot, and has consulted for international robotics startups and investors on product strategy, system design, and commercialization.
Farimani is also a guest lecturer at Chalmers University of Technology and an active speaker on topics such as Physical AI, humanoid robotics, and the role of design in shaping practical, scalable robotic systems. His work emphasizes realistic, utility-driven approaches that prioritize functionality, human interaction, and long-term deployment over speculative concepts.
